Wonderous Strange

   by Lesley Livingston

Kelley is 17, she graduated high school early to chase her big dream in New York City. She has always wanted to be an actress. When she ends up with the lead in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream it seems perfect (even if it isn't even close to Broadway) , but faires might be more than she bargined for.

Sonny is a guard of the gates to the fairy realm. He just happens to stumble upon a young actress that is something more than mortal. He wants to keep her safe, but with the day of the opening gates approach he has a lot to worry about. Including Kelley.

I loved this take on Shakespeare and I can't wait to start the next one. Though it was a bit predictable most book are to some to some degree. I really recommend this book.

Matt and his two sisters live in fear. Each day is just another one to survive, their mother is unpredictable and dangerous. Matt wants nothing more then to make his sisters and himself safe. Going to a store he sees Murdoch save a child from his abusive father and he dares to hope Murdoch could help him. After two years of searching Matt finally finds Murdoch but it is snatched away by his mother who remarkably starts dating Murdoch. But once he gets to know her he dumps her. Life becomes even worse for the kids. Can Matt find refuge with his father, can he get Murdoch to save him? Or will he have to do something else to end the struggle to survive in his own home, and save his sisters? I like this book but it was one I could put aside and forget for a few months.

Red Riding Hood

by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright, Catherine Hardwicke

The blacksmith would marry her.
The woodcutter would run away with her.
The werewolf would turn her into one of its own.

Having a wonderful sister everyone (including her) loves is something Valerie has lived with all her life. But she won't have sweet beautiful sister anymore, because she is dead. She was murdered by the wolf. That was just the start.... Her friend turns her in as a witch and that's not all a professional werewolf hunter comes to her tiny village and tells the small close-knit community that anyone of their friends, family, or neighbors could be the wolf. She meets the wolf and discovers that she can speak with him, she understands each haunting word it says. And what the wolf says is that she must go with it or everyone she loves will die. I loved this book a lot the only drawback would be the last chapter is on the website here it is: Red Riding Hood

Delirium

by Lauren Oliver

64 years ago people finally came to their senses and declared that love was a disease infecting everybody, destroying the world. Luckily the president of the United States got scientists working on developing a cure. Only the United States survived thanks to a cure everyone is given (regardless of their wishes, because they may be under the influence of deliria) when they turn eighteen. Lena Holoway is just a few months away (exactly 94 days, if you're counting, which she is) from the best birthday of her life - the 18th - she will finally be rid of the deliria that forced her mother to lose her sanity. A life full of happiness, no pain of uncertainty, and Lena is almost there. She can't wait but she might have been meant to go a different path; one that involves her falling in love.

I loved this book. Partly because it took place where I live. I can't wait for the next one and I really recommend it.
